Girl Talk
The "Model" Guy
written by jenniferp on September 15, 2007

“Model-Boy”: Raised in Asia and later moved to the US to pursue a higher education, Model-boy only succeeded in achieving a PHD in 24 and The Simple Life. Not to be ruined by cable television forever, he decided to get on the other side of the machine and found work in television production. Unfortunately his intelligence level was no where near his ridiculously good looking…level… so he was soon fired. He resorted to the only thing he knew, which was standing around and looking pretty (aka modeling).

1. WDYKAR: Do you like it when a women dresses in a provocative style (low cut tops, short dresses, revealing apparel)?

A: Unless you're my 400 pound neighbor who refuses to put on a shirt while mowing the lawn every Sunday afternoon, I love it. Nothing projects more confidence in a shorter amount of time. However, there is a difference between sexy and trashy, so don't overdo it.

2. WDYKAR: Why do some men show interest, take a girl's number, and then never call?

A: Because he's more interested in the girl he met right after you? It can be a game for some guys where the reward is a huge boost in confidence. But if you had an engaging and genuinely seemed interested (don't lie to yourself), I don't see why he wouldn't call.

3. WDYKAR: Do you consider there to be a double standard for girls who have sex on the first date? Does it lessen the appeal?

A: With all the dating advice out there, who doesn't know not to have sex on the first date? Unless you're looking for something less committal, and in that case you should actually email me at ---------, don't have sex on the first date. You'll be perceived either as desperate or slutty; neither of which you want to be associated with.

4. WDYKAR: At what point do you / would you consider a girl your girlfriend?

A: Unfortunately in order to have a girl become a girlfriend, she has to be willing participant. So it's hard to consider her a girlfriend unless it's been discussed after several very good dates. That being said, I've never gone into a date with the intention of bringing it up since it will naturally arise if the feeling is right. And typically this feeling occurs two-thirds into date 5 after the boeuf grille, but just before the coconut vacherin.

5. WDYKAR: How is she to know when its exclusive and you have no interest in seeing other women?

A: I would think that this is the unsaid intention behind considering a girl a girlfriend unless I wanted to be a pimp. When I say pimp, I mean the guy on the corner of 41th and 8th, not Jay-Z. Otherwise, it's pretty safe to assume the relationship is exclusive after the 'girlfriend/boyfriend talk.'
